Another day…

As some of you know, I’ve been moving my “real” blog over from Blogger to here on WordPress. I have to say, it takes a bit to get used to so many cool options that you get but what is also cool is the built-in website tracking tools. I can tell so many things (where people link from, who’s been on the site, when people where they are and so much more). Also, the functionality is so much better. It’s not down every other day and I haven’t lost a post yet. Pretty cool. If you’ve got a blog elsewhere, you might come over and check it out.

Oh… got the new frame built up and figured out that I’m going to have to either keep the wheels amazingly true or drop down a size width in tires (from 2.35″ to 2.1″) as it’s incredibly tight in there.

Check the Flickr site for more pics if you’re interested.

Haven’t ridden it yet as I haven’t had time, but maybe tomorrow or Monday. I’ll report more to you then.

What does one say here. Hmmm. First, I'm a "trailing spouse". Kera, my wife, works hard and keeps us afloat. I work... not nearly as hard and contribute enough to let us have fun. Oh, I also make bags for bikepacking under the name of SpoK Werks http://www.spokwerks.com I'm an English Teacher (English as a Second Language) here in Germany. It's an amazingly rewarding thing to do. I'd never have believed it until I'd tried it. I also make bikepacking bags under the name SpoK Bags. Just search for us in Flickr. We're adventure nuts (i.e. cycling, travel, life, friends, etc.). We attempt to live each day as fully as we can manage.

  1. Good god, ditch the 2.35. I didn’t know they made those for a 29er. Try the Spez Fast Track Pro 2.0 if you want some volume. Run some Karma 1.95s too – you will be suprised at how a 1.95 in 29er can ride so well.

  2. I’ll probably drop back to my normal 2.1. I like matched sets of tires. Not sure if I can get a skinnier version of the Rampage or not. They’ve been a good tire, even so wide. Oddly enough, I think that they’re relatively light especially when they’re so wide.

  3. Nice Black Sheep. Col that James made right on it. I think that it is the coolest frame I’ve ever seen. Nice blog too!

  4. Cocheese…. thanks a lot. I love the frame, I’m also very happy that James made it all good. Also, thanks for the blog comment. I like it that others like it too.
